FULL HOUSE AT THE WORKSHOP
Cloud Nine’s Theatre Writing Workshop at the Exchange, North Shields got off to rattling good start this Monday.
A full complement of twelve writers have signed up for the six weekly sessions run by our artistic director
Peter Mortimer. As well as general principles of writing for theatre, the course is also looking for new talent for the Cloud Nine’s Scratch Theatre Night at The Exchange on Thursday November 30th, where extracts from new work is put on its feet in front of a live audience.
Our latest play, which will have seven performances in four different venues, goes into rehearsal on Monday Oct.9th. Rehearsals for The Dirty Flea-Bitten Scrounging Bastard take place at Washington Arts Centre. We are delighted to welcome three actors new to Cloud Nine for this production, Lawrence Neale, Samantha Neale and Dale Jewitt, who are joined by a Cloud Nine ‘veteran’, Jill Dellow. We are also delighted that as well as our old favourites, The Exchange and The Surf Cafe Cloud Nine are to be playing two new venues- two nights at the recently opened Alphabetti Theatre, Newcastle and one night at The Quaker House Darlington, both virgin territories for Cloud Nine. Neil Armstrong directs.
